BuddyNow Cookie and Local Storage Notice
This notice explains how BuddyNow uses cookies, local storage, and secure device storage.
1. Mobile App
The BuddyNow mobile app does not use browser cookies. It uses limited on-device storage so the app can work normally.
| Storage | Purpose | What is stored |
|---|---|---|
| AsyncStorage | Remember app preferences | Language preference and similar non-sensitive settings |
| iOS Keychain through SecureStore | Keep you signed in securely | Session token for the 30-day login session |
2. Website
The public BuddyNow legal and landing pages are static pages. We do not intentionally set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking tools.
Hosting and DNS infrastructure, such as GitHub Pages and Cloudflare, may process standard technical request information needed to deliver the website and protect the service. BuddyNow does not use this for behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. Analytics, Advertising, and Crash Reporting
BuddyNow does not use third-party analytics, ad networks, behavioral tracking SDKs, Facebook SDK, or Google Analytics. We do use Sentry for crash and error reporting on the backend and mobile app — see the Privacy Policy § 6 for what Sentry receives and how it is constrained (no email, no message bodies, no location; by-design business errors are filtered out).
4. Your Choices
- You can delete the app to remove app-local preference storage from your device.
- You can sign out or delete your account to revoke server sessions.
- You can manage website cookies, if any are set by infrastructure in the future, through your browser settings.
